Learning Spanish - Day 1

Numbers

The goal for today, is to find a free app that will teach me the following numbers:

Ones	1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9
Tens	10,20,30,40,50,60,70,80,90
Hundreds	100,200,300,400,500,600,700,800,900,1000

Google Translate is a language translator application.  I like this app.  I'm sure it wasn't meant to be a learning/teaching application, but, I have to admit, I use it to translate words often.

So, I recommend this application as a starting point. 

Learning Spanish Language

Over the next 30 days, I will use a bunch of free applications to help build my Spanish vocabulary. Here, I will show my progress, as I download, install and use these apps to help me build this vocabulary I need. I know we all learn differently, but, I will honestly try and be objective, and give each Application I use, a fair review. I learn best by doing. Writing each word, and then repeating it over and over, and finally it sticks. Writing is not the only tool I need. I need to be able to say the word, and "hear" it. There is no chance of me learning by reading alone.
This is how I will judge each app.

spelling

1) Does application challenge me to spell each word?

2) Does application show me the pronunciation of each word?

listening

1) Does application allow me to listen to each word?

2) Does application allow me to hear different voices of each word?

3) Does application allow me to hear each word at different speeds?

arrangement

1) does application group words into smart sets

2) is application word sets thought out, or just a dump of words??

3) what types of words are taught? (verbs, nouns, adjectives)?

games

1) are games used to help me study?

2) do the games work correctly?

3) were the games useful? was I able to learn?

4) did I like the game?

Word Finder - Silverlight Application

Silverlight Entry - Word Finder

Today I submitted by first silverlight application to the SilverLight.net web site.

This site has a Showcase portal where SilverLight application are present...

I wonder if my application will be accepted?

Jason Barahona - Photographer from Ecuador

I just started building the jasonBarahona.com web site. This web site will expose the photographs taken by Jason Barahona.

Jason is an amazing photographer. Today, 9th of April 2009, he is heading into the jungle in Ecuador to take pictures of some native people. He will live there for four days and take pictures of everything.

SilverLight Demo - Word Finder Game

With all the buzz about SilverLight, I decided to write my first app.

Translator Word Finder

The goal of this game is to find words.

You have to know the translations between the two languages (english and spanish). Great way to learn a second language. I'll be adding a few more sections to test your knowledge.

If you have some "english-to-spanish" words list; please send them to me. If they are appropriate, it will add them to the game.
